I grew up in Ål, a small mountain town in southern Norway, surrounded by a rugged landscape, unique characters, and magical light. My father was a photographer and I started experimenting with the camera at an early age. It didn’t take long before the passion took hold. My love for the outdoors and location photography has led to advertising and editorial assignments around the world, including The North Pole, Greenland and Antarctica. I documented the last dogsled expedition across Antarctica, the Trans-Antarctica Expedition; a 3741 mile long epic journey led by explorer Will Steger, for National Geographic. As an avid skier, mountaineer, and mountain biker, I bring an understanding of motion and realism to action shoots and a creative fine arts feel to the surrounding environment. I love the challenge of big productions as well as smaller shoots where a scaled down crew can move quickly from one location to another. I truly enjoy meeting new people and feel as much at home working with an elite athlete or celebrity as a reindeer herder in the mountains of Norway. It's all about getting memorable shots and having a great time doing it! The camera has introduced me to great people around the world, I feel fortunate that I can journey through life doing what I love.
